Description
Zareen, derived from the Persian word for gold, embodies the vibrant complexity of Malta’s rich limestone terroir. Sourced from Chardonnay vines at the limits of Mdina, this vineyard is celebrated for its breathtaking views of the bastions and its unique character, offering an inspiring and rewarding experience for the winemaker. Following the same philosophy as previous vintages, the wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in oak. It also underwent bâtonnage in stainless steel, followed by 2 months in barrels, with full malolactic fermentation (MLF) to enhance texture, integration, and complexity.
Tasting Notes :
Primary aromas show ripe tropical and stone fruit notes of banana, pineapple, melon, and apricot, lifted by delicate white flowers. Secondary aromas bring added complexity, with notes of biscuit, brioche, butter, cream and vanilla. Tertiary aromas begin to emerge through notes of walnut, toasted bread, caramel, and honey, giving the wine a refined sense of development. The wine is dry with high acidity and a full body. Medium alcohol and pronounced intensity give the wine an elegant yet structured profile. Flavours mirror the nose, showing generous ripe fruit balanced by freshness, with a long, refined finish that underlines its elegance and aging potential.
