Description
The “old vines” – this is in fact the wording Alte Reben – from which this Riesling is born are located just above the city of Saarburg, and are characterized by a typically slate-rich subsoil. The vines, which grow in decidedly steep vineyards, with “heroic” traits, have an average age of over seventy years, and give the final sip – thanks to a vinification and aging process with attention to the smallest details – a particular mix of minerality and freshness.
Tasting Notes :
With a beautiful intense straw yellow color, the nose releases floral and fruity scents that smell of acacia flowers, candied cedar and nectarine, with touches of medicinal herbs, especially sage. The sip is dense and thick, savory, with a finish that opens up to flavors of candied fruit with a herbaceous touch.
