Description

The Cretan variety Plytó is such a remarkable case of a variety which was literally snatched away from the verge of extinction by the Lyrarakis family, when it was planted in the “Psarades” vineyard at 480m altitude in the early ’90s. At present, Plyto yields a small number of white wines but it does show great promise of potentially becoming one of the key native varieties which will be called upon later on to shoulder the representation of the historic island of Crete’s wine profile.

Tasting Notes :
An elegant organic wine, both fruity and mineral, with chalky notes. Balanced and full with vibrant acidity and slightly creamy aftertaste. Notes of white peach and citrus blossom lead the way with more fruity wafts of lemon, apple, pear. Floral honeysuckle, green herbs, and chalky flint balance the acidity. Pairs well with grilled fish and seafood.
