Description

Planted in 1998 Pencarrow comprises 19.5 hectares of Pinot Noir, 4.5 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 1.7 hectares of Pinot Gris in the different soil regions across the vineyard. The Pencarrow wines generally go into the high quality Pencarrow range, although in recent times some of the Pinot has muscled its way into the premium Estate range. Palliser are also proud to say that they commenced organic conversion on 10 hectares of Pencarrow in 2021 with the balance of the vineyard to be farmed organically in 2022. This Pinot Gris is made from a blend of 57% Woolshed Vineyard fruit and the balance from organic Om Santi Vineyard. The wine is aged for a further 3 months on lees gaining complexity before bottling.

Tasting Note :
This wine is fresh, vibrant and exotic revealing aromas bursting with honeysuckle, poached pear, nutmeg and apple. The palate is just off-dry to taste, luscious and mouth-filling, with floral and baking spice notes adding complexity to the generous suffusion of apple and pear flavours. Crisp, cleansing acidity drives a long, balanced finish. A luscious and exotic take on Pinot Gris in an off-dry style.
