Description
Château Margaux, a Premier Grand Cru Classé estate, has a storied history of producing exceptional wines. While renowned for its red wines, the estate has also crafted a distinguished white wine since the early 18th century. In 1920, this white wine was named Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux. In recent years, the estate’s rigorous selection process for Pavillon Blanc has led to the creation of a second white wine, the Pavillon Blanc Second Vin, first introduced with the 2022 vintage. Checking in as 100% Sauvignon Blanc brought up eight months in 20% new oak, the 2023 Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc was harvested earlier to avoid the heatwave, yet this is still a rich, concentrated example of the cuvée.
Tasting Note :
This vintage stands out for its freshness and elegance. On the nose, it reveals a delicate bouquet of perfectly balanced floral and citrus notes. The palate offers a supple, generous texture characterized by seamless roundness and smoothness. The finish is fresh and persistent, supported by a good level of acidity.
