Description

Talus is a geological term referring to the accumulation of freed granitic rock fragments at the base of steep mountain slopes, known as a talus slope. Tending and keeping the vines under its watchful gaze, these wines are an ode to the majesty of Mount Langi Ghiran showcasing the strength of the mountain through precise cool climate wines, Talus is quintessentially Mount Langi Ghiran. Sourced from blocks planted by Trevor Mast in the 1990s, this Shiraz is matured in French barriques (40% new) for 15 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes :
Powerful and intricate with lavish black fruits and earthy undertones with an abundance of pepper and five spice, heightened with perfumes of red and blue florals. The palate is elegant and poised, yet commanding. Deeply layered with inky black and red fruits, dark chocolate, anise, pepper, spices and fragrant violet perfumes. Full bodied with an earthy richness that cradles new oak complexity, underpinned by supple tannins. Continually evolving as time passes, effortlessly flowing with purity and definition.
