Description
Pensées de Lafleur, first conceived as the second wine of Château Lafleur, has become a cru in its own right since the 2000s. The plots dedicated to Pensées de Lafleur are located on a sandy-silty surface, less gravelly than the vines dedicated to Lafleur. Their subsoil, on the other hand, is deeper and richer with a notable presence of clay and iron dross. Less precocious than the other Lafleur soils, the fruit is harvested later. Pensées de Lafleur benefits from the same winemaking and ageing methods as Château Lafleur: vinification is done in small concrete vats and ageing in oak barrels, half of which are renewed each year.
Tasting Notes :
Lovely red fruits on the nose with delicate perfume of lavender and delicate rose. Restrained style, lovely balance and finely grained tannins. A melée of English summer pudding. Lovely poise, ripeness and purity with length, elegance and vinosity and an excellent mineral backbone. Finishing with great acidity and sapidity.
