Description
Being the winemaker of his family’s wine estate since 2006, ‘Guillaume Gonnet’ was created by Guillaume and his Australian wife Kelly having fascinated by the notion of ‘terroir’, most notable about how the Southern Rone varieties express themselves in diverse terroir. Blended from three parcels of 60 years old vines, the Gigondas Le Mentor incorporates some old foudre (large barrel) in the aging for the first time. The grape composition is Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre.
Tasting Notes:
Nose of dark fruit, plum, blueberry, blackberries, licorice, raisin, slight earthy and herbal notes coming through with a hint of black pepper. Beautiful complexity.
