Description
Guillaume and Kelly Gonnet purchased their own plots in Châteauneuf du Pape in 2015. With their vines, and selected parcels, Guillaume continues to produce wine that reflects his philosophy for winemaking – minimal interference with the “terroir effect” by following biodynamic agricultural principles, ensuring the wine is the right blend of Southern Rhone varieties – Grenache, Syrah and Mouvèdre, to attain complexity, balance and soft, elegant tannins and following an approach to aging using very little wood influence.
Hommage À Maryline is a special cuvee, parcel selection of old vines Châteauneuf du Pape rouge. The Wine is vinified in wooden and concrete vat then aged in old demi-muids (600L barrel). The wine is a blend of Grenache 70%, Syrah 20%, Mouvedre 8% and Counoise 2 %.
Tasting Notes:
A bouquet of ripe fruits, morello cherries, blackcurrants, blackberries, licorice, bay leaves, thyme and rosemary, oriental spices and hints of dark chocolate. This wine will evolve beautifully in the glass or would benefit from decanting. Perfect with slow roasted rack of lamb served with herb, duck breast with cranberry glaze.
