Description
By buying this vineyard, Amélie and Fabien Faget wanted to build their corner of paradise, hence the name “EDEN”. The logo also represents the end of a peacock feather, itself a bird of paradise! The 12 hectares vineyard is located in the town of St Christoly-de-Médoc, on the edge of the Gironde Estuary, which offers a privileged climate. The wine is aged in the traditional way, favouring manual punching down which allows a gentle extraction of the tannins. It is mainly composed of 60 %Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting Notes :
The nose reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and small touches of crushed strawberry, violet, ripe small black fruits/black berries associated with touches of black tea and hints of liquorice, caramelization and toasted. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis, boysenberry and more slightly wild berries associated with small touches of ripe bell pepper, red fruits, liquorice/zan as well as a very discreet hint of vegetal (in the background). Tannins are slightly firm. Good persistence. There are hints of dark chocolate on the persistence as well as an imperceptible hint of coffee and vanilla (in the background).
