Description
Château de Sales is located in the north-west of the Pomerol appellation. With 47.6 hectares (117 acres) under vines out of the 90 hectares (222 acres) that make up the property, it is the largest vineyard in the Pomerol appellation. Château de Sales, which has had HVE High Environmental Value certification since 2020, promotes virtuous vine-growing practices which incorporate and enhance biodiversity. The wine are made with blend of 79% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc and aged for 12 in 20% new French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes :
A radiant garnet red, the wine has a complex, precise nose on black fruit, spice and vanilla aromas. From a clean, fresh attack, the full-bodied mid palate reveals ripe fruit flavours and well-integrated oak on fine, silky tannins, leading into a long and elegant finish.
