Description

The 2017 vintage in Bordeaux was a year with its fair share of climatic challenges; a testament to the resilience of vineyards and the deft craft of winemakers. The 2017 Chateau Cantemerle encapsulates this determination, after the frost that besieged the region in the late spring, there were initial anxieties about yield and quality. However, the fruit that prevailed through this trial by ice has shown an impressive concentration and character. The wine were made with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and aged in 40% to 50% new French oak barrels for 16 months.

Tasting Notes :
Chateau Cantemerle is a wine of great elegance. The color is deep and intense, with ruby red nuances. The nose reveals a good aromatic intensity, with fruity notes of cherry, currant and floral scents. On the palate, it is juicy, fleshy and dense, with a vegetal hint, round tannins, and a nice fruity finish. Its good structure will be the best partner for roast veal with chanterelles, and grilled red meats.
