Description
Chateau Canon owns 34 hectares of vines. 24 of those hectares are classified as First Growth terroir and are used to produce Chateau Canon. The vineyard of Chateau Canon is located in the heart of the St. Emilion, on the top of the limestone plateau. The wines are made with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Château Canon is a formidable expression of Right Bank terroir.
Tasting Notes :
Adorned with a beautiful dark maroon colour, the wine reveals a powerful but fine bouquet, which harmoniously combines candied fruit, well-balanced stave-wood and spices. The palate is in the same vein, generous and full-bodied, sappy, racy, supported by liquorice tannins and a chalky frame, characteristic of the terroir. A wonderful bottle armed for a long stay in the cellar!
