Description

The vineyard of Château Barde-Haut extends over 17 hectares located at the Eastern limit of the town of Saint-Emilion, at the end of the plateau. The vineyard forms an amphitheater facing south, overlooking the Dordogne Valley. Typical of Saint-Emilion, most of the terroir consists of a shallow layer of clay on a limestone outcropping rock. Château Barde-Haut is equipped with small wooden vats, stainless steel and raw cement from 50 hl to 70 hl. A selective and qualitative policy is conducted in the vineyard. All this work of restructuring and renovation, combined with the know-how of the Garcin family, was rewarded in 2012 when Château Barde-Haut was eventually promoted Grand Cru Classé. The wine consists of a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, aged between 18 to 24 months in a mix of small barrels, concrete tanks and stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Note :
Aromas of blackberries, cassis and blueberries mingled with hints of violets and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a deep core of ripe but lively fruit, powdery tannins and a floral finish.
