Caiarossa 2020 is the purest expression of the vineyards that make up the estate and shows all the complexity and nobility of the terroirs.
The 2020 Caiarossa is a blend of 28% Cabernet Franc, 23% Syrah, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 13% Sangiovese, 4% Petit Verdot, and 1% Grenache. A true expression of nature’s luxury. Caiarossa 2020 was vinified in oak barrels, 30% of which were new barrels, for 11 months for the most delicate grape varieties, Alicante, and up to 20 months for the most powerful, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. After blending, the wines rested before bottling for 6 months in concrete vats.
Tasting Notes :
Caiarossa has lively, concentrated fruit, framed by an elegant mineral note of crushed limestone. The wine’s expression is of black cherry and sweet blackberry, but there are also savoury notes of tobacco leaf and dried leather. However, it is the candied cherry and raspberry notes that stand out with distinction, underlining a warm wine. There are plenty of tannins, but the texture is soft and the finish is long and lingering, with lovely bitters. A perfect companion for your finest occasions!
