Chief Winemaker Glenn Goodall believes that true quality begins in the vineyard and that winemaking is all about respecting the fruit – purely guiding the wines through to the bottle rather than ‘beating them into submission’. Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful statement of Margaret River Cabernet displaying such a wonderful exotic perfumed aroma and a silky palate. The oak fruit balance is well managed with the 40% new French oak as an important contribution to elegantly structured yet with plenty of palate power, lots of black fruits with a cedary oak influence, a lovely wine for the cellar too.
Tasting Notes :
This elegant wine boasts a deep, ruby color and aromas of ripe blackberries and cassis. On the palate, flavors of dark chocolate, tobacco, and spices are complemented by soft, silky tannins and a long, smooth finish. Handpicked and matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, this wine truly embodies the character and elegance of the Margaret River region.
