Description
Alter Ego De Palmer is actually not considered to be a 2nd wine by the Chateau as it is produced from separate plots and is a different blend. Produced by the same team and from the same vineyards as Château Palmer, Alter Ego is literally the ‘other side’ of Palmer, made to be drunk much earlier, ready to open within 3 years of the harvest. A great wine with blend of 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot aged for 16-18 months in barrel.
Tasting Notes :
The 2019 Alter Ego from Palmer is deep garnet-purple in color. It has a profound nose of crème de cassis, plum preserves, tar, and star anise, followed by hints of wild sage, cedar chest, and graphite. The medium-bodied palate reveals finely grained tannins and compelling freshness to match the intense, nuanced fruit layers, finishing long and vibrant.
