Description
A perfect introduction to Orange wine from highly renowed Lyrarakis family from Crete. Orange wine is a unique style where white grapes are fermented with their skins, giving it an amber hue and richer flavour. Lyrarakis vineyards in Heraklion, located at over 500 metres altitude, benefit from the perfect terroir for Assyrtiko and Vidiano grapes. Winemaker Myriam Ambuzer has been with Lyrarakis for over 20 years bringing her expertise from Spain to crafting this wine. Grapes are macerated for 12 days, and post-fermentation, the wine spends five months in concrete tanks to develop its complex flavours.
Tasting Notes :
The wine reveals orange, amber-hued color with aromas of fresh peach, nectarine and apricot coupled with citrus peel, lemon and hint of wet stones minerality. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium-high crisp acidity, silky structure and touch of tannin ending with a savoury fruity finish.
