Description
The Port is made each year in the traditional manner, trodden in granite lagares from grapes blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão, and Tinta Roriz grown at Quinta de la Rosa. Named after the large barrel in which the Bergqvist family used to keep their family blend, Tonel 12 is steeped in history. Each year a small number of top-quality wines are specially chosen and set aside to be aged in old 550l oak pipes for an average of 10 years before being blended and bottled.
Tasting Notes :
It is a rich and elegant blend with wonderful aromas exuding the heat of the Douro. On the palate it is complex with powerful dried fruit, figs, honey and almonds with a long pleasing finish and a touch of mandarin.
