Description
The Douro, despite being a very old region, still has, thanks to its large size and enormous diversity of terroirs, a lot to explore. Quinta de La Rosa is a good example of this diversity, with vineyards from about 100 m, next to the river, in the imposing Vale do Inferno, to 500 meters of altitude, in the vineyard of Lamelas. Always with a privileged view of the Douro River, all the grapes of the Quinta are letter A – the best that the region has to offer. The poor and schist soils, combined with a very varied topography, favor full-bodied wines with excellent levels of minerality, acidity and freshness. The wine is made from 100% Touriga Nacional. Most of the grapes for this wine come from the vineyards of Vedeal. Fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged for 15 months in French oak barrels (30% new wood).
Tasting Note :
This wine reveals a perfect aromatic quality where the fruity component is intensified by its floral side projecting black plum and black cherries with floral tone of violet and blossom. On the palate it is dense and complex, but it stands out mainly for its subtle freshness and long finish. Expressive throughout its tasting, it has an excellent ageing capacity.
