Description

Carnasciale Botte Grande is a fascinating expression of that Tuscan individuality which makes the small Il Carnasciale vineyard, perched high above the Arno Valley, so unique. This single-varietal Caberlot – a rare, almost unknown variety and a cross between Cabernet and Merlot – grows on barren, stony terraced slopes at altitudes of up to 520 metres above sea level. The 2022 vintage was characterised by a warm, though not extreme, summer and cool nights in September – ideal conditions for a slow, phenolically mature harvest. The 2022 Carnasciale Botte Grande is the second vintage of this wine, which has been aged for a further eight months in wood.

Tasting Note :
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby colour with violet highlights. The nose is crisp and focused, with notes of black cherry, cranberry, juniper, violet and mineral hints. On the palate, it is juicy, straightforward and carried by a light, dancing elegance. The tannins are silky, the acidity finely woven, and the finish is long, subtly spicy and imbued with an almost Burgundian freshness.
