Description
Grezz is a tribute to the winemaker’s grandmother, a woman he never had the chance to meet but whose passion for her small field in Dingli left a lasting legacy. She dedicated herself to cultivating vegetables with care and devotion, and her love for the land inspired those who followed. In 2005, the winemaker planted his first experimental vineyard in her field. It was there, working the soil, that his passion for grape growing and winemaking was born. Grezz is primarily crafted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon underwent extended maceration to enhance complexity. The wine was aged in new French oak barrels for approximately 24 months to add depth and elegance.
Tasting Notes :
The wine reveals aromas of black fruits like blackcurrants, cassis and plums are complemented by tomato leaf, grass, herbal garrigue, mint, and eucalyptus, alongside wet stone minerality. Secondary aromas of smoky wood, oak, vanilla, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cedar, and buttery cheese notes. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acidity and robust tannins. A full-bodied structure with high alcohol and pronounced intensity delivers a bold, layered profile. Flavors mirror the nose, with a long, lingering meaty finish that showcases depth and refinement.
