Description

Dolio is the result of the recovery work developed on the steep hills of Doade and Abeleda for the last 40 years. Extremely steep terraces in a unique landscape that got abandoned after the Spanish Civil War and that been patiently and dedicatedly manage to recover since the beginning of the project. The 2019 Dolio is a cuvée of 66% Mencía, 20% Brancellao, 6% Souson, 4% Caíño Tinto, 4% Garnacha Tintorera created as a blend with the help of Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza in this first vintage, but they should go much further in future years. They selected north- and west-facing vineyards to achieve more freshness in the wine, trying to reflect the huge potential of Ribeira Sacra. The full clusters were foot trodden and fermented in a troncoconic oak vat with indigenous yeasts and matured in 225-liter barrels and 2,000-liter foudres for 24 months.

Tasting Note :
A deep cherry-red colour with a brilliant sheen. The nose is rich in aromas of ripe red fruit, accompanied by subtle notes of black fruit and orange zest. There are also mineral nuances and hints of Galician undergrowth, reflecting the purity of its terroir. On the palate, the wine has a broad, structured attack, with a marked Atlantic freshness. The minerality is present throughout, providing elegance and a perfect balance with the aromas. The finish is intense and elegant, inviting you to prolong the tasting experience.
