The DeCarlo family of Bitritto in the area of Bari in Puglia was featured in Tom Mueller’s book, Extravirginity. Why sun kissed? You could call them half-dried. The product label reads “cherry tomato bruschetta”, but the De Carlo family likes to call it “sun-kissed tomato passion spread”. Once you try it, you will understand their passion for this product. The family takes dried cherry tomatoes, estate extra virgin olive oil, capers, garlic, chili oil and salt to create this incredible spread. Complex and bold, the flavors combine perfectly in sandwiches, on pizzas, bruschetta, or simply served with cheeses and cured meats on an antipasti platter.
