Description

The “Rosso dell’Abazia” is produced in Nervesa della Battaglia in the area of the Asolo Hills, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Francesco Serafini and Antonello Vidotto decided to start cultivating these lands, buying about 20 hectares of land near hills and foothills. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes of the “Rosso dell’Abazia” come from vines planted on soils consisting mainly of brown and dark red clays. The grapes undergoes an alcoholic fermentation in steel and ages in barriques for 15 months; there is a further refinement in the bottle for a year.

Tasting Notes :
Rich and complex with intense aromas of ripe black plum, blackberry, red cherry, layered with candied citrus fruits, floral, herbal and savoury notes. Full-bodied, it delivers mouth-filling, generous black fruit across the palate with spice and oak complexity. Tannins are structured, ripe and velvety. The finish is long and flavourful.
