Description

The Melissaki variety, unknown and forgotten by many, can be found in vineyards at the foothills of Mount Psiloritis. After sourcing it from its place of origin, Lyrarakis planted it in 2010 in a family-owned vineyard, called “GERODETI”, hence the wine name. The grapes were macerated on skins in second-use 400lt French oak (“Perle”) tanks for 9 days. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation were spontaneous by yeasts and bacteria of the vineyard and thereafter being aged in oak for almost 4 months.

Tasting Notes :
The Melissaki ‘Gerodeti’ unveals real interesting nose – a bit of orange zest, resinous, a little funk – like really good herbs and fungi. It is an  elegant and serious orange with crisp white fruit, lemon balm, and salty rocks, and a dense texture and tea-like grippy tannin.
