Description
The name Doisy-Daëne was devised by the owner in the late 1800’s, Jacques Emmanuel Daëne, who added his surname to the name of the vineyard at the time. Château Doisy-Daëne is a Barsac estate that produces top-class, sweet Bordeaux white wines that are characterized by their finesse and richness. At the very top of the Haut Barsac, bordered by Crus classés in 1855, Doisy Daëne is located on the clay-limestone plateau. Made with 60% Sémillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc, ageing is carried out in barrels for an average of 12 months.
Tasting Notes :
Pale gold in color, the 2009 Doisy Daëne features expressive notes of honeyed lemons, dried mango slices, apricot tart and Seville orange marmalade with a touch of shaved almonds. The palate delivers mouth-filling stone fruit and citrus preserves layers with great purity and a lively backbone, finishing wonderfully zesty and youthful.
